After writing 28 Spring Outfits That Incorporate the Spring Trends 2016, I decided to spend more time on this spring’s trends, but to focus on the spring colors 2016. Is it me or this spring’s color palette looks absolutely adorable? Love the light colors, love the bright colors and love how they look together.
It is a bit weird that I am so in love with this palette since lately I love to add a bit of rock edge to my outfits, but you cannot ignore these colors! You simply cannot!
Plus, no one says you have to wear a spring shade with another spring shade even though they really look goodl together. But if you really are not a fan of pastel/bright colored outfits, add dark shades of grey, black, navy blue and neutrals. Wear this spring’s colors in shoes, belts, jewelry, bags and other accessories.
Since I decided I need more power and edginess (in the very fashionable sense of the word, of course) added to my outfits, I will probably look for something Fiesta, something Snorkel Blue, some Lilac Gray because you cannot have enough basics and something Green Flesh because this shade of green really looks good with my new red hair.
Spring Colors 2016
I think everybody knows Serenity and Rose Quartz are this year’s colors. Right? Well, if you did not know that, you just found out! Besides these cuties, we have Fiesta, Green Flash, Lilac Gray, Snorkel Blue, Ice Coffee, Buttercup, Peach Echo and Limpet Shell.
Since my outfits suggest only some ways you can wear the spring colors 2016, I think it’s a good idea to talk about all the colors included in the spring palette and to see what they inspire and how to wear them. Good to go?
Let’s start with the neutrals, shall we? This spring brought us Lilac Gray and Iced Coffee as neutral shades.
Pretty hard to find clothes in Iced Coffee since there are so many beige shades out there, it is pretty impossible to determine if the shade you are looking at is the very specific shade you were looking for. But similar shades are as great as the Iced Coffee introduced by Pantone. Same thing goes for the rest of the palette so keep this is mind when you are looking at the outfits, please.
What to wear it with: everything! It is a neutral shade so you can do whatever you want to do.
I don’t know about you, but this is my favorite shade of gray ever! It looks warm and cool at the same time, depending on the light. This playfulness is amazing in my book! Plus grays are great for almost any look so more love for Lilac Gray!
What to wear it with: since Lilac Gray is a neutral shade, just like Iced Coffee, you can wear it with bright colors, dark colors and other neutrals. Be as playful as this shade is and create outfits to fit your personality.
Now let’ talk about them colors!
One of this year’s colors, serenity, is a peaceful color like most shades of light blue but this one has calmness embedded in it.
What to wear it with: This peaceful and calm shade compliments Rose Quartz very well. These two light shades scream femininity when they are put together. If the combination is too girlie for you, try to combine it with dark neutrals, black or various shades of brown. You can add another spring blue, aka the Snorkel Blue, in the mix for a chic office look. And if you prefer bright colors and courageous colorful outfits, combine serenity with Buttercup or another yellow shade. They look good together.
Not the typical pink shade, Rose Quartz, is a powder pink shade that seems powerful and light at the same time. Does that make any sense? This is what I think when I look at it.
What to wear it with: It is not my typical color, but I love how it looks with black. We saw pink combined with black, especially in punk outfits, but it is not that common to see pink and black in office looks or classic looks. Unless the shade of pink is not faded, which is not the case of Rose Quartz. This color definitely puts me in a romantic, have-no-idea-what-I’m-saying mood.
You can combine Rose Quartz with Serenity as I already mentioned, with warm neutrals for feminine outfits or with dark neutrals for classy looks and color fanatics should try Peach Echo and Rose Quartz, it is a delicious combination!
Part of the navy blue family, this shade of blue is to die for in my book! Can you have energy vibes and calm vibes in one color? Apparently it is possible!
What to wear it with: Honestly, I think this shade looks pretty good with everything! Since blue jeans can go with everything, I think same thing can work for Snorkel Blue! Maybe I’m missing something but I love all Snorkel Blue outfits I can picture.
I think you all know by now that when it comes to red, any shade will be amazing to me. Whether we are talking about dark, cool reds or warm reds, I will love it PERIOD. Fiesta is not only a very nice color, it is also vibrant, energetic and great for those of you who love to live a colorful life.
What to wear it with: A touch of Flash Green will bring the best out of Fiesta, black and white added alongside Fiesta will add a modern touch to the classic black-white-red trio.
You gotta love me some yellow! In case you missed my cold season yellow phase and you are into yellow, check this article! This spring’s shade of yellow is so precious, I would wear it just to get that warm feeling I get when I look at it!
What to wear it with: In case you want to be bubbly and fun, add Buttercup to Snorkel Blue, if you want a classy vibe, try a black printed Buttercup dress or skirt.
Colors this season transcend cultural and gender norms. Vivid brights give way to excitement and optimism, though quiet stability prevails in this season’s palette.
This is what Pantone says about the spring colors 2016. Quiet stability is exactly how I would describe Limpet Shell!
What to wear it with: Snorkel Blue will bring the energy to your otherwise calm outfit. This combination is perfect for business attire and it has a feminine touch too so it is perfect! Iced Coffee looks great with it too! Peach Echo will bring the best in Limpet Shell if you want to create a positive, vibrant but relaxed outfit.
The orange craze continues in case you wondered! This time we have a completely different shade of orange with more red in it. It’s peachy, orangy and redish at the same time. Forgive my just-invented words but I think you get what I mean.
What to wear it with: Dare to wear it with Rose Quartz for an extra feminine outfit, with Serenity for a calmed down look or with neutrals to let it shine!
Vibrant greens are simply the best! The nature feeling this shade brings to the spring colors 2016 is great!
What to wear it with: I already said Fiesta, but I have to say it again! Other shades of red will also be great! Neutrals are great to tone down the vibrancy a little bit and black will make it pop in the best possible way.
Before making this article longer than it already is, I will end it saying that to make the best out of the spring colors 2016, you have to see which shades are better for you – warm or cool.
