The sales season started two weeks ago and since then I keep thinking: what I should invest my money in? Looking back at all the stuff I have ever bought, there are only few things that were really good investments. I am not talking about spending hundreds of euros for a bag or a pair of shoes. I am talking about quality over quantity. I am talking about all those thousands of pairs of jeans or flats that I bought in the past years. They could have all been replaced by two or three pairs that were more expensive and of a better quality. I am not saying that more expensive means better quality, but in some cases, it does. Not only that it is a smarter financial move in the long run to buy more expensive, but less things, than cheaper and more, but it also has a positive impact on the environment. Most of our clothes and shoes and accessories are not recycled. Although there is some development on this matter but I will talk about this in a different article.
I know that for us, ladies, it is difficult to abstain from having a pair of shoes or a bag in every colour, shape and size. But trust me, if you stopped buying 10-15 bags per year and you would buy 2 good quality bags, you will start understanding the difference. And the best time to make these acquisitions occurs twice per year: January – February and July – August. These are the sales periods. In the first one, you can buy all those gorgeous fall and winter coats, shoes, sweaters, dresses, while in the summer you can buy all those sandals, sunglasses, bags, shirts, trousers, dresses you always wanted. If you are smart about it, you can find
very good the best deals at the mid-end sales’ season.
Because we are in full spring-summer sales season, I put together a list of things that are very popular at the moment. They are also items that fit into the ‘timeless category’ so getting them is definitely a deal. I added cheeky links so that you can get them on sale as well (click under the images to get redirected to the e-shops).
Good news for the women that always carry a lot of stuff in their bags (like me): the backpack started being hot again. And it has been like this for more than a year now. It used to be for school only. Not anymore.
I chose a snake print model from Mi-Pac.
I am pretty obsessed with pink this season and to be honest, I think pink it is here to stay for lots of seasons to come. This makes this Furla bag the perfection addition to your collection.
I love both no pattern and patterned slip ons. I recently bought these two models from Montreal on sale from Vans. I paid for both of them 69 Canadian dollars. You can buy them from Vans Europe though with the same price.
The original espadrilles are from Spain. They are produced from recycled materials and they are just gorgeous. My favorite is this pair because the color is so perfectly natural.
White flowers sandals
This entire summer I have been obsessing over this type of sandals (I obsess over a lot of things). They are delicate and feminine. I love them! You can find some lovely ones at Aldo. I went for the only ones with a pattern, but you can also find them in black, gold and pink with no print.
The simple beige dress
Less is more. This is what I was looking for when I found this dress. Not only that it is on sale and that it is simply adorable, but it can be worn when it is cold outside as well. Just add a jumper or a jacket and some boots and here you go: you have something to wear next fall too.
Cat eye sunglasses
This pair is made for taking out our inner feline spirit. They are classic and elegant. I could even say perfect for any season. Not to mention that they are from Dolce and Gabbana and you can find them here on a big discount. Oh, and they go well with the dress too!
Hope this list helps! Let me know if you think I should add more items to it!
