The inverted triangle body shape (find out what’s your body shape HERE), as strawberry as we like to call it, means that your shoulders are wider than your hips and you generally have large shoulders and tiny hips. Therefore, what we need to do is to achieve equivalence between the upper and the lower parts of our bodies in order to look our best! Lovely ladies such a Demi Moore and Charlize Theron are exquisite examples of the strawberry body shape, but their red carpet ensembles and general acclaim easily demonstrate that a body shape is never a disaster, as long as you know what to wear and how! With no further due, here’s our advice on what you should wear so that you’ll look stunning!

First of all, you must avoid adding structure to your torso. This is why voluminous tops with puffed sleeves are not your friends and there should be no place for them in your wardrobe. Halter tops are to be avoided, along with any top that makes your shoulders look massive. Epaulettes might look amazing, but combining them with your body shape won’t look impressive, quite on the contrary! Such details will create a highly masculine figure and will definitely not look proportionate.
But turn that frown upside down! Even though you are forced to avoid any details and structure on your torso, you can have as much of that stuff as you want, only on your lower part of the body! Bring on the ruffled skirts and the harem pants. The first are extra girly, although, as Demi Moore proves in the photo, ruffles can also be an important part of a majestic red carpet gown. Harem pants, or puffy pants, as I like to call them, add the exact amount of structure to your figure and if you choose the right pair, they add an overdose of fashionista elixir!
You, unlike most gals, have a go for tight pleated skirts, as voluminous as they get! A-Line dresses, as you know by now, are a must for any body type, so as long as you keep the top half simple and add any adornments to the lower half! Of course, A-line skirts are more than welcome in your attire selection, anytime, anywhere! Although the peplum is not as in vogue as it was last season, you can still find some fashion gems in stores. Peplum tops or skirts are both highly recommended – maybe not as over the top as the ensemble Charlize Theron wears in the picture. Tone it down a little bit and go for the colors that compliment your skin tone the most!
As for pants, the Marlene Dietrich style (palazzo pants) is an upscale version of regular high waist pants that goes marvelous with your figure. To spice things up a little bit, find this pant model in bright colors – those add structure where it is needed as well!
It goes without saying that if you love ample skirts and dresses or stylish trousers, you and your body shape are meant to be together. Don’t forget that you can have them in all sorts of different patterns, as long as you remember to keep the tops simple and the skirts or trousers intricate!
