As we’ve said in the previous article, your body shape should be renamed “wear a sack, you’ll look good anyway”. There’s a good reason why Greek sculptors chose the hourglass body as the one they want to recreate. In theory, there is the perfect balance between your torso, hips and legs. Your body resembles that of Scarlett Johansson. On a body like that, anything looks good and you don’t have to try very hard to highlight your assets or worry about how well a particular clothing item will fit. It simply does. However, we all know there’s a difference between theory and the reality of life. But don’t worry: if Scarlett can pull off an impeccable look, so can you!
Let’s start with pants. This year, runways lure us with white jeans, Capris both slim fit and baggy and to that we add sheer pants, for the daring fashionistas out there! And add more dare to the mix: we bring you fishnets, leather and studs! As it may seem, the rock vibe never goes out of fashion, so these pieces should be elementary in your wardrobe and have the same famed spot pearl necklaces and little black dresses have.
If, however, your style is less rock diva and more Lolita, sorbet colors, such as pale yellow, baby blue, candy floss pink and mint green are the stars of the season. Orange also joins the party- I guess they knew what they were doing when they named that show “Orange is the new black”! All these girly colors come along with floral patterns and dotted dresses and blouses, and yes, a head to toe pink outfit is perfectly acceptable this summer! Get your Legally Blonde look ready and steal the show from women who still think a monochrome ensemble is just… too much!
But maybe you’re into royal looks and precious materials and all this talk about bright colors and fishnets bores you substantially. Well then, you should know that the little black dress is rivaled in the hot summer of 2014 by the little lace dress. Short as always, with a nightgown air to it and a simple A-line cut, this dress makes up in fabric for all you might think it loses because of its simplicity. This encapsulates the fit for queen runway style, while being available for us, mortals out here. Add black eyeliner and out-of-bed hair and you’re good to go to any party! Embellishments and embroideries are just as in vogue and you can definitely wear an off the shoulders dress.
And if you don’t have a perfect hourglass body, because such are the hardships of life, it’s unexceptionally simple to trick the eye and keep and exceptional look. If your bosom is ample, avoid ruffles and keep it simple. If your hips are ample, avoid ruffles and keep it simple. If you don’t have a defined waist because you have a big belly, add the magical element- a belt- and BAM there it is, it was just hiding. A-line dresses and bootcut pants are your best friends. By the way, we know it’s sometimes hard not to know the whole world how proud you are of your body, but keep it stylish and never cross the line between sexy and skimpy, it won’t do you any good!
