Body curves? Love them, but you need to know what your body shape is. You need to understand that your body tells you what looks good on you. You just need to listen or, in this case, to learn how to see.
So let’s start our journey! I have fruits, hourglasses and rectangles for you.
How do you find out what kind of body shape you have?
Ask a friend to measure the distance between your shoulders, then the distance between your hips in the same way.
How to measure your shoulders:
Last measuring step: measure your waist. Make sure you’re not measuring the smallest part of the torso or around your belly button.
Stand with your feet together, leave your arms relaxed, down by your side and do not ‘suck in’ your stomach! You want to find out the truth about your body. If you do not like your tummy, I will show you how you can hide the extra inches, but now just be honest with yourself!
How to measure your waist:
Note down this measurements. By comparing all three numbers (shoulders, hips, waist), you will determine your body shape:
Your shoulders and hips will be about the same and your waist will be smaller than both your shoulders and your hips.
Your hips will be larger than your shoulders and your waist.
Your shoulders and waist will be larger than your hips.
Strawberry or inverted triangle:
Your shoulders will be bigger than your hips and your hips.
Your shoulders and hips will be about the same and your waist will be just a little bit smaller.
Make sure you don’t cheat! It is important to find out what’s your body shape. Trust me you’ll be happier after. For a few years I thought that my hips are very big. Guess what? I’m a strawberry so that’s impossible. Now imagine how shocked I was when I find out that, well, my hips are not as huge as I thought. After this amazing revelation, I started to really understand how to dress to look as good as I can.
